Keeper’s Reach by Carla Neggers

keepersreachAn international art thief with a tragic past and an alter ego lord of the manner, Oliver York, two FBI agents seemingly following some agenda of their own, and a group of agents from Mike Donovan’s past — including an old flame — descending on Donovan’s home turf with unresolved issues create the setting for this international mystery, Keeper’s Reach.

From the end of the first chapter where Martin Hambly, York’s assistant is attacked and left for dead, the mystery becomes more and more complex.  When agent Colin Donovan’s bride-to-be, FBI expert in art crimes Emma Sharpe disappears, the tension escalates and the mystery becomes more complicated and the four Donovan brothers team up to find Emma and track down the mastermind behind the strange events.

715nfchtwl-_ux250_This is the first book I’ve read by Carla Neggers although I see inside the cover this is one of 6 series for a total of 29 books she has written in addition to 7 stand-alone novels.  I thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns and interesting characters in this novel.  The unveiling of the would-be murderer was a total surprise and I’m not sure there were clues pointing toward him along the way but otherwise it was a book that was hard to put down and I’ll certainly be picking up more books in the Sharpe & Donovan series. * * * *

About mysm2000

Having taught elementary school for more than 25 years and been involved in many amazing technology and curriculum projects, I find I've developed a myriad of interests based on literature I've read and music I've heard. I've followed The Wright Three to Chicago, Ansel Adams to Colorado, The Kon Tiki Expedition to Easter Island, Simon & Garfunkel lyrics to New York City, Frank Lloyd Wright to Fallingwater, Pennsylvania, and have only just begun.
