On My Bookshelf: Dec. 23/16

BookshelfSmallOn My Bookshelf features books waiting on my shelf, books I’ve recently heard of, and ones I want but don’t dare buy until I’ve read at least a dozen books that are waiting on my shelf.  Here are a few of them:

Wedlock by Wendy Moore

I read about this on Teaser Tuesday this week and it’s based on a true story.  It’s subtitled:   The True Story of the Disastrous Marriage and Remarkable Divorce of Mary Eleanor Bowes, Countess of Strathmore.  Apparently a kidnapping is involved and this was one feisty lady.

The Magdalene Scrolls by Barbara Wood

Last year I read a book, an historical-fiction novel about Mary Magdalene and loved it.  Did quite a bit of research online and when I saw this novel was being released again in paperback decided to delve a little further.  Looking forward to getting it.

The Memory Jar by Tricia Goyer

This is another Amish story, this one from the series Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors.  (Reminds me of an old movie.)  I haven’t read any of this series before but will give it a try.

Garden of Madness by Tracey L. Higley

This is an historical-fiction novel about King Nebuchadnezzar’s daughter and how she awaits the return of the mad king who roams his gardens as a wild beast.  Sounds fascinating.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire by Jessica Gunderson

I read a mystery story set at the time of this dreadful disaster and was intrigued to learn more.  It’s been on my Amazon wish list ever since and I’ve finally ordered it.  Can’t wait.

Smoke by Dan Vyleta

Recommended to me by my sister-in-law, this one sounds a bit spooky but extremely thought-provoking.  I’ll let you check it out for yourself.

If you’ve read any of these books, please leave a comment about them.  Are any of them on your TBR list?  What is waiting on your bookcase right now?  Leave a link to your reading list and . . .

thanks for stopping by.

I've followed The Wright Three to Chicago, Ansel Adams to Colorado, The Kon Tiki Expedition to Easter Island, Simon & Garfunkel lyrics to New York City, Frank Lloyd Wright to Fallingwater, Pennsylvania, and have only just begun.
