First Chapter, First Paragraph, is a meme hosted by Bibliophile by the Sea. Anyone can play — just copy the first paragraph of the first chapter (or prologue) and include a picture of the book cover. Leave your link at Bibliophile by the Sea. This is a book by one of my favourite authors, Paulette Mahurin: The Seven Year Dress. Here is the beginning of the Prologue:
Present Day
I was looking to rent a room. She was looking for family. I needed a place to live. She needed to fill an empty void in her heart. But it would take me few weeks to realize the role I was to play in her life.
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! So, from the same book:
While I poured the tea, she looked at me with bloodshot eyes and said, “My Papa told me life is precious. I had to die many times to truly understand this.” p.12
Have you read this book? What did you think? If not, would you read it based on the beginning and the quote? Leave a comment and a link to your First Chapter, First Paragraph and Teaser Tuesday post.
Definitely an intriguing opener there – I’m in!

That’s a very interesting teaser! I’ve never heard of The Seven Year Dress, but I’d definitely read more of it based on that teaser.
Thanks for stopping by my TT!
